Interviewing an Organizer
When calling an organizer, take a few minutes to get a feel for the organizer's style.
• When you ask for information, is it given clearly?
• Does the organizer seem knowledgeable, skilled, comfortable talking with you?
• Do you feel a rapport with the organizer as a person?
Questions to ask:
1. What kinds of organizing projects do you do and who is your typical client?
2. Do you work with (name some areas causing you stress or concern)?
3. Have you been trained or apprenticed?
4. Can you describe your organizing approach with clients?
5. Do you organize with or without the client present?
6. I have tried to get organized before. How will this be different?
7. What is your consultation fee?
8. How do you charge for organizing sessions -- by the hour, day rate or by the project?
9. If hourly, do you have a minimum number of hours?
10. How long is an average organizing session?
11. Do you charge for travel time?
12. When is payment due for services?
13. Do you accept credit card payment?
14. What supplies do you provide and what would I pay for?
15. Do you shop for needed supplies?
16. What is your cancellation policy?
