Allison Carter, The Professional Organizer

"Organizing doesn't have to be boring."

People think organizers are strange sometimes because we have fun putting things in order. But for me, it's just another way of getting my creative juices flowing. Believe it or not, finding solutions for clients is a very creative endeavor. I have to think like the person, get into their shoes, sit in their chair and figure out the best way to get their stuff in order. . . while keeping it interesting.

  I wasn't always like this. I was really messy growing up. I loved to have a lot of stuff around me... and to be honest I still have to fight my urge to collect. But now I see the ease and simplicity of life when I can find something because it has a home AND I put it away in the spot where it's supposed to go.

  So that's what I help people do. I love to work with busy moms who are struggling to stay on top of things. They may be facing new challenges every day as their lives change.  And I always enjoy working with creative people to help them have a super fun or relaxing spot to work on their projects.

My bio:

Allison Carter, owner of The Professional Organizer, worked for more than a dozen years at CNN and as a producer and assignment editor where she refined her skills in time management and efficiency.
Today, as a working mother and family manager, she is constantly prioritizing her time and reinventing her space to make room for children's toys and a growing business.

It isn't always easy for Carter. Like many of her clients, Carter faces the real world challenges of balancing family, work, and self. Because of her own challenges, Carter understands others' difficulties getting organized and staying organized.

Carter believes organizing can be easy and even fun if it fits the way your real world works.
Our purpose is to change your life by creating systems which are simple and easy to maintain.

Carter is proud to call herself a Certified Professional Organizer. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, which adheres to a strong code of ethics regarding client privacy. She is the Past President of the NAPO-Georgia Chapter .

Carter is also the chief mentor and trainer of The Professional Organizer Affiliates.

  When Allison arrived I immediately knew things were going to get better.  My business had grown so fast that my home office organization had suffered (it was a mess!) and I could not find the time or the energy myself to get back on top of things.  

  In comes “The Professional Organizer”…Allison and she went right to work.  After about 10 minutes of planning, we set the plan in motion.  We attacked the business and personal files, the work flow in my home office, the placement of furniture, as well as creating a list supplies necessary to maintain level of organization I was trying to achieve.

  I particularly liked the way Allison came equipped with handy supplies to get the work done as well as suggestions for items to make staying organized easier.
   After 3 sessions of working together, my office was nearly complete, the rest was really up to me to finish and maintain.  I have hired an intern who will easily be able to step in and be productive due to the work that Allison and I did together to achieve my organizational and productivity goals.
 
Thank you Allison for coming up with a useful and efficient plan of action for both of us and for setting me up for success in my business.
